Lab Director

Dr. Zhijie Wang (PI)

Dr. Wang received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University (China), followed by a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo. After completing postdoctoral training at University of Wisconsin - Madison (mentor: Dr. Naomi C. Chesler), she became a faculty member in Colorado State University and then in San Diego State University consecutively. Dr. Wang has authored peer-reviewed publications in the fields of bioengineering, physiology, biomaterials and tissue engineering, and clinical research, presented in national and international conferences and seminars, and secured funding from major federal and private agencies. She is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), American Heart Association (AHA), American Physiological Society (APS), and International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV).
