Mechanical Engineering for Cardiovascular Health (MECH) Laboratory

Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering for Cardiovascular Health (MECH) Laboratory ! The lab is directed by Mechanical Engineering Assistant Professor Zhijie Wang. It is located at the Engineering Building (E329) at San Diego State University.
Our mission is:
- Advancing the frontiers of cardiovascular science by uncovering groundbreaking biomechanical and/or mechanobiological insights that shape both healthy and diseased cardiovascular system function.
- Empowering earlier, more accurate diagnosis and disease monitoring through the identification of critical biomechanical markers of cardiovascular health and progression.
- Transforming patient outcomes by pioneering innovative, next-generation therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disease.
